AquaTech has also revised all prices for their housings, lens ports and accessories coming in affect 1st of November. So grab one of their new housings for this coming summer at new low prices.

Can an older d-35 be retrofit to fit the 40D?

yes there is a Conversion Kit for Canon 40D for the D-35. best is to send in your housing to AquaTech to get it upgraded and they will pressure test it for you as well to make sure all is in working order.

Hey Fabian,

any update on when the flash housing will be made to fit the 580 EX II. When I talked to Craig a month or so ago he said that it was something being worked on but had no timeframe.

they are available for both the 580EX and 580EX II models now.. the only difference between the two is the positioning of the ON and OFF switch. Canon has left everything else at same location. (except the master/slave option which isn't needed to be changed in a housing, but with the new 580EXII it can be done through the menus, where with the old one you had a switch near the hot shoe)

Any idea on the cost for the 40D conversion kit?

Can i purchase the retro kit without sending in the housing? (I am not in Australia for at least next 6 months)

the 40D conversion kit for the D-35 housing is priced at $715. might want to check pricing in the new year again, it might have come down a bit to similar pricing as the 5D/30D conversion kits @ $595. now if you got a more recent D-35 housing it should be no problem doing it yourself but if it is an older housing it is recommended to send it in to AquaTech if possible since they can also do the pressure testing for you to make sure everything is still working as it should.
